Ringway Golf Club is an 18 hole private members club in Hale Barns nr Altrincham, Cheshire founded in 1909 with full and active playing membership.

Our beautiful and picturesque parkland course is regarded as one of the best in Cheshire and due to career progression, we are looking for a Deputy Course Manager to continue to take Ringway to the next level. The successful candidate will build on the success achieved in recent years and support our vision of being a recognised leader by ensuring that our on-course experience and practice facilities consistently exceed the expectations of our members and visitors.

 
The successful candidate will require the following:
  • Experience in a similar supervisory role for at least 3 years
  • Ensure the greenkeeping team employ recognised agronomic principles to optimise year-round playing quality
  • Support the CM to maintain the course in a manner that is in keeping with the traditions of the game and the history and heritage of the course and its designer
  • Supervise and help create delegated work programmes that ensure course work is done in a manner and at times that minimise inconvenience to golfers
  • Deliver training to ensure that the course staff have, and maintain, the required levels of knowledge and ability to deliver high standards on the golf course
  • Knowledge of all health & safety legislation relating to greenkeeping equipment, chemicals and waste handling
  • Identify & convey to the Course Manager initiatives and opportunities to increase cost effectiveness without compromising on quality and standards
  • Contribute and maintain comprehensive and auditable records of activity including but not limited to pesticide spraying, fertiliser applications, maintenance schedules, staff rotas, machinery and equipment servicing and maintenance
  • Maintain and employ an effective, reliable range of up to date greenkeeping machinery to optimise playing quality, presentation and turf health across all areas of the course and practice facilities
  • Have experience in the promotion and development of ecology management in line with R&A recommendations
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Sports Turf Management
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates
  • Highly organised – able to manage deadlines in a structured way whilst minimising levels of reactivity
