Job Title: Course Manager
 
Location: Yeovil Golf Club, Somerset.
 
Salary: In line with CGCS recommendations, starting from £50K but commensurate        with the responsibilities of the role and dependant on experience.
 
Reporting to: General Manager
 
 
Yeovil Golf Club Overview:
 
Founded in 1907, Yeovil Golf Club is a 27-hole parkland course set in 160 acres that sits on the Somerset/Dorset boarder. Separated by the River Yeo, Yeovil Golf Club boast an 18 hole Old course within Dorset and 9 hole Newton Course in Somerset. We have recently completed our greens drainage project on The Old Course where the majority of greens have been installed with Hydrowick Drainage, and an ongoing in-house tee levelling program is currently in progress.
 
The Club also has a busy 14 bay driving range with Toptracer, extensive Pro Shop, and large clubhouse.
 
 
The Candidate:
 
We are looking for a hands-on, progressive individual to set high standards and manage a strong and experienced team of 8 members. The successful candidate is expected to continue to move both courses positively forward in line with the Clubs vision and recent report undertaken by Swan Golf Designs and provide excellent courses.
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong skillset in management, agronomy, and be computer literate. You must also have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a good understanding of the game of golf.
 
 
Qualifications And Experience:
  • Posses NVQ level 3 as a minimum
  • 3 years+ experience in a management roll (Course Manager/Deputy Course Manager.)
  • Spraying qualifications (PA1, PA2, & Pa6.)
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal.)
  • Experience with building and managing a budget
  • Good understanding of asset management and machinery maintenance
  • Knowledge of irrigation system maintenance and repairs
  • Golf course construction and renovation experience
  • A sound knowledge of health and safety protocols (COSHH, Risk Assessments.)
  • Woodland management experience
  • A sustainable approach to golf course management
